Interactive Society and the New Mediaby Jessica MadrazoIt is always considered that words are the ultimate means of communication, surpassing all others. Video, photography, and sound are considered as factors meant to complement the message. This is the same case with internet, and the tools it has provided us to create what we term as the new media. The accompaniment of these additions contributes to the appeal to our emotion, reasoning, and intelligence. The fact that the internet and the modern day technology is considered to be almost boundless, the new media is considered to be just as limitless. A mastering of the techniques to push this virtually limitless medium more and more is an addition to the requirement of media and journalism. Location has ceased to become an impediment because of the internet’s global reach, and anyone who holds an interest on the matter covered have access to whatever is the best, and the latest. Whether online, in print, or in advertisements, there is a redefinition of everyone’s way of thinking, writing, and interest. The ability to capture this attention to relay a message require more than the typical online information--fluid, received, and forgotten. The information floating around may possibly not be worth the investment. Standards are higher, the market is wider, and channels are inexhaustible. |
